Removal of playground markings can be an easy process with minimal disruption when carried out correctly. Whether you need to renovate or remove old markings to create space, Uniplay provide fast and efficient services across the UK.
We offer a variety of thermoplastic services ranging from installation, cleaning and removal. Our comprehensive playground removal services ensure any new thermoplastic graphics being installed have a clean finish and adhere permanently to the surface preventing accidents and damage.
We often find schools and nurseries have old playground surfaces with worn out line markings which give the outdoor playgrounds a poor aesthetic. When we first start working with a client, we fully assess their existing markings and create a plan to develop a new playground experience for their pupils.
As part of this process we can remove tarmac graphics to give your activity area a facelift and prepare for new markings.
Our team is experienced in a wide range of playground services including installing and removing markings. Our experience gives us several options we can use to remove the playground markings to your specifications.
We use two methods of playground marking removal.
This eco-friendly method can be used on a variety of outdoor surfaces including concrete and tarmac. Water jetting is ideal for removing delicate markings and markings on textured areas without damaging the surface underneath.
The ultra-high-pressure water jet method is aggressive giving the playground an even, intense clean. It is also a time and cost-effective method for removing thermoplastic markings on large playgrounds. Using ultra high-pressure water jets also reduces noise disruption and clean up time.
For this method, our crew will require drive-on access to the playground as well as a steady water supply.
Another method of removing playground markings is sand jetting. This method uses an abrasive gritty solution which is blasted at the playground surface to remove the markings. Sand jetting takes more time than ultra-high-pressure water jetting. However, it is the ideal method for delicate surfaces.
Sand jetting is an environmentally friendly method of removing playground markings. We use eco-friendly materials and do not generate fumes during the removal process. Our sand jetting method is low consumption and requires less clean up.
The quick, compact sand jetting method does not cause surface damage. We do not require to barricade or close public footpaths. Uniplay’s sand jetting is also highly mobile and will not leave residue or generate back smoke.
If your playground is heavily marked, the sand jetting process might take longer than other removal methods. Our crew will keep you updated throughout the removal process and clean up the playground area after removal at no extra charge.
All members of our team are DBS checked and highly trained to ensure your playground marking removal project is handled to the highest professional standards. We also offer a free site survey to establish the best removal method for your space.
