Playground Markings Watford – Cassiobury Infant & Nursery School

Uniplay are a UK wide Thermoplastic Playground Markings Specialist and were approached by Cassiobury Infant and Nursery in Watford. Cassiobury had a large, very dated outdoor playground that was in major need of a re-vamp.

Uniplay first met with School Business Manager Lucy Silverstone to take a look at the area and chat through their playground markings requirements. Our site visit and survey is completely free of charge and is there to ensure we learn about your space and what you are looking to achieve to help us make the right recommendations for your outdoor setting.

Following our consultation it was clear this Watford school wanted a bright, engaging space designed to get their children fit and active during break times. There was also a clear requirement for outdoor learning, particularly phonics, to engage children outside of the classroom. As an infant school it was import we took into account the age range and proposed markings for Key Stage 1 children.

Following our initial consultation, we produced a full scale visual and itemised quotation for Lucy and the school team to consider. Our design team help to envisage the look of the completed playground to help all schools see the positioning, scale and size of all the graphics we propose. From this point we can reposition and change the playground design however many times you wish to make sure we get exactly the right solution.

Cassiobury had some old, faded playground markings and while we could completely remove these, their proposal allowed for us to cover them with our highway grade, high durability surface covering to create a bright colourful activity track. Our playground surface covering completely transforms small or large areas and is available in an exciting range of bright, fun colours. The scheme also included a small and larger scale roadway to promote gross motor skills, along with targets and number grids.

It was great working with Lucy to realise their playground vision and develop a solution that was exactly right for them. Ground works and school building projects meant that the installation wasn’t immediate, but it allowed them to book in a date and know the work would be carried out at an exact date and time to meet their school calendar.

Our DBS checked installation team worked around the Cassiobury school day, to ensure as least disruption as possible to the children and staff and carried out the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.

The school are delighted with their playground transformation and the difference it will make to the activity levels of their children.
